I got the email today letting me know I've been selected to go to NEPAL!!! My first of five training classes is this Saturday. YAY!!!

From the day I found the Nepal trip on the church website (cccev.com) I have wanted to go. The site did not give much information on the trip however when speaking with Amanda (trip leader) about the trip, she gave me detailed information on what to expect. The trip will last two weeks, the first week visiting areas of sickness, poverty, and other upsetting things. I was surprised that such a small country could have such turmoil. This first week due to how depressing things can get, we'll be staying at local hotels. However, in the second week, we'll be staying with families in Nepal. This second week we'll get to see how God is helping those who were once in positions we saw from the first week. It was moving to hear about the things we'll be doing, seeing, and sharing. Years from now I want to be able to reflect on my first impressions and emotions throughout the trip so I went out and bought a journal to use for this trip.

So now I wait to hear if I'm selected to go for the trip. I've finished the application and have spoken to Amanda twice. I should know this week if I'll be going. If selected, training will start, and the fund raising will begin. I need to raise $2,500.00 in order to be able to go on this trip.
